East Anglia -
Ecotech in Swaffham is one of only two wind turbines in the world with a viewing platform and it's quite an interesting experience.
There's currently a really good sand sculpture festival on in Great Yarmouth.
The beaches along the Norfolk and Suffolk Coasts are beautiful.
North East
Newcastle is just a fab and friendly city and well worth a visit.
I have been informed by a pagan on a bicycle that The Temple of Mithras on Hadrian's Wall is quite good (tell them Ken sent you)
Alnwick Castle and Gardens make for a good day out. If Alnwick looks familiar its been in loads of films. Bamburgh Castle is also really lovely, especially on a hot day as you can go to the beach afterwards and paddle.

Lots - there are a lot of beaches and seaside towns, a huge number of impressive historical homes and churches condensed in a fairly small space, beautiful scenery in the north with opportunities for walking - the list is endless.
