Cat Meow....

Stay away from the 'bargain' stuff in the grocery store. Go to a PetSmart, PetCo, or other large pet products store and get the type that best fits your cat's needs. Iams, Eukanuba, Science Diet are all good brands. Personally, I use Nutro products. Science Diet is probably one of the best out there. I like all these brands because they all have different formulas for different cats/dogs.

To keep your cat healthy, you should feed her a high-quality food such as " Eukanuba " ( my vet recommended it for my cat).
This food supports over-all health and promotes a healthy digestive process, it deters dry-skin and gives her a soft, healthy coat. It's a product of " Iams company ".
You should also allow her " free choice ", meaning leaving her dry-food bowl filled all day as cats are nibblers, this way she cat nibble at will throughout the day and make sure her water bowl is always has fresh water.

sorry - you have received some bad information...
rules of thumb:
1 if you see alot of COMMERCIALS for a food - you can be guaranteed its bad food - they are putting money into commercials NOT into quality ingredients
2 if you can buy the food at grocery store or wal mart its crap
3 any food using by by-products (beaks feet feathers, preserved with dangerous chemical pesticed) is CRAP!!!!!

a good food uses HUMAN GRADE MEAT.. lists what kind of meat (eg. CHICKEN MEAL, LAMB MEAL) and uses the meat as first ingredient

I am sorry to say - HILLS SCIENCE DIET - is NOT a good food - it is overpriced for its quality because they PAID for vet endorsement (vets receive very little or no training on food ingredients or brands they sell whatever food is presented to them to sell and make money selling it)

ok you didnt say what country you are in - but I assume North America

Canada - NUTRAM or ACANA

USA - WELLNESS, INNOVA, CHICKEN SOUP FOR CAT LOVERS, FELIDAE

you will pay MORE for a better food but your cat will eat less = less poops and fewer health problems particularly in old age

ALSO NOTE: IAMS and EUKANUBA used to be good foods until bought out and dumbed down by Proctor & Gamble (also not linked to cruel animal testing)

My youngest cat does really well on Purina One. His coat shines, his eyes are bright, and he's full of energy.

My other cat can't eat dry food, so I'm still looking for the best alternative in canned form, that he will eat.

The best I have found is Natural Balance.Fresh chicken, brown rice, fresh Duck, fresh potatoes, oatmeal, dried cranberries. BY DICK VAN PATTENS. This comes in dry and cans. My cats love the dry and are healthy!

I use Nutro for my cat and dog. It is all natural and no animal by-products. Most pet stores carry it. It is a little more expensive, but pets are our babies and nothing is to good for them. If you go to the website, you can sign up to recieve some coupons in the mail.
