Since when is it hard to follow one's heart? I do it easily! sure there's some people nitpick at me cause I buy what I like.for instance I had Salad instead of a Burger in my Combo at Wendys and people ridiculed me. So I said I'm a vegetarian. & then asked why the strawberry icecream teasing about that too.. I said I like ice cream and strawberry is good for my stomach and I'm not a Vegan! I do what I feel is right and if someone don't like it why should I care? What is so hard about following one's heart? Listen to your feelings and heart and obey them wisely! You do have to have some commonsense and don't jump the gun!
Your heart will let you know when it's time to follow it. Also don't think too much becausing thinking can cause you to think following your heart to be hard which is actually what the Devil
or Lucifer wants people to think!

It is not. What is difficult is to get the heart and mind to agree, and get the heart to have only one desire. If you look closely, it is your heart that takes the informnation your intellect gathers and decides how it "feels" about that information. But often the heart has several desires at once, and this creates conflict and doubt. Be still, take the time to get all of the information you can, prioritize, and move. That's all you can do. Waiting inevitably leads to uncertainty. Good luck!

The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked, who can know it? Jer 17:9
So:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path.Prov 3:5-6
Because if you:
Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, all the other things will be added to you. Matt 6:33

I find it very easy to follow my heart. It never steers me in the wrong direction, it always brings me home to my Wifey and our Son. Our hearts are so connected that I feel like we share one, she is my Soul Mate and I thank God for bringing her into my life these past 12 years and I can't wait to follow my heart into the future with her.

I tried to follow my heart but it seems to have a problem with direction, keeps leading me into bad situations. So I dropped the heart and started following the advice of "Shashona" at the Psychic Friends Network, although she keeps asking me to send her money and she predicted that I'd be a Millionaire before the end of this year 2006, no such luck so far. I did win 20 bucks at Bingo last Friday.

Fatima, there is a bible verse that pretty much sums it up. "The heart is desperately wicked, who can know it?". Our hearts are fickle. They are over here one day, over there the next. That's why it's not really wise to "lead with your heart" all the time. My goodness, did I get in an ocean of trouble letting my emotions rule me.

My life is now grounded in the word of God; a much better guide, with far superior results!

Because often what your heart wants will not be good for you in the end.
However, another spin is that you are afraid that your heart might actually know what is best for you and could lead you to happiness, and you don't know how to be happy.
Take your pick!!

I don't know what religion/faith you follow, but following your heart is not good for Believers.

Following God is a better choice.
