There is a bump on white part of the my eye, kind of in the corner. The area is very itchy and burning and has been there a couple days. I dont have eye allergies. I am worried. does anyone know what could be wrong with my eye? It is just in one eye, so I dont think it is pink eye.

It is possible to have pink eye in only one eye. Check out the link I am giving you in the source list. I had pink eye about ten years ago. It only affected one eye. I did go to my eye doctor for treatment.

Look dear,it is not astye as others told u,astye is localized acute suppurative inflammation at the lid margin involving a zeis gland. The white part is medically called the sclera .I'm going to tell u causes of red eye & the most probable ones it may be.Causes of red eye:1-common causes:a-acute conjunctivitis b-corneal ulcer c-acute iridocyclitis d-acute congestive glaucoma 2-other causes:1-endophthalmitis b-panophthalmitis c-orbital cellulitis 4 cavernous sinus thrombosis 5-nodular episcleritis 6-scleritis 7-photophthalmia 8-subconjunctival haemorrhage 9-corneal foreign body 10 asthenopia. So I suggest it may be asthenopia if u worked a long time in artificial illumination & in this case all u have to do is resting your eyes.As you said they r itchy ,it may be spring catarrh, but you said you don't have allergy. If you are old,it may be nodular epicleritis but not to worry I don't think it is as it is almost bilateral. If you r hypertensive,it may be subconjunctival haemorrhage & it spontaneously disappears. If you have a problem in your liver or vitamin k deficiency or any blood disease that leads to spontaneous bleeding,so they are the cause, but also not to worry, such conditions are associated with bleeding from other areas e.g epistaxis. So,if u don't have any problems of the former don't worry it will spontaneously disappear.I hope I could help.Bye.

Sounds like bug bites or Posion Oak Ivy. Pour some Peroxide on it and use Calomine lotion to reduce the itching.

I had this exact same problem a couple of days ago. It's just this thing called a sty. It's nothing really to worry about. Just flush it out with water a couple of times every hour and keep it away from light and it will be ok. But, if problems persist, go to your local eye doctor.

It is called a stye and could lead to pink eye. It is a puss filled bump that itches and burns. Keep eye clean and moisturized and should go away soon. Dont scratch it, because it will inflame and keep sterile eyedrops in your eyes at all times....Good luck

It is not pink eye, but you should see an eye doctor right away. You do not want to fool around with your vision.

It is a stye. All you can really do is put a warm wet washcloth on it. Hold it for a bit, and repeat several times.
