If you can't tell....odds are he doesn't. Ask him or move on. But please don't dwell on it. If he is also a very good friend considering leaving all be or you MIGHT lose this friend.

You sound like my 5 year old daughter who thinks there is only one of every toy in the world and if i don't buy it for her then she'll just die...He isn't the only boy in the world...move on and find someone who does not confuse you!
