I swear you asked this question last night.

Why haven't you talked to this girl before now?

That is all there is to it.

Let her see you are interested in her and see if she becomes interested in you and if it works out fine, if not then find somebody else to make contact with.

I don't see a problem here.

And avoid the term girlfriend until maybe a week or more of steady dating. That is an assumption that may come back to bite you in the backside.

Don't give up. Being with this girl can turn to be much more fun than you expect. Not liking the same things is not such a big deal. You know what they say - opposites attract! What you can do is to show some interest in what the other one likes and wants. Try to see why she likes reading so much, what kinds of books are her favourite, has she ever attempted to write something herself. Go with her to the bookshop, ask her to recommend you a book to read (and do read it after that) - just be nice and try to understand her. Then offer to do something you like together. Tell her about your passion, show her new things, take her to new places. This is a good opportunity both of you to learn something new. You will discover that you have much more in common than you thought. Don't change to please each other, accommodate!!!! Share your interests and desires, find what you like to do together. If you show appreciation of the girl and her interests I am sure that she'll start to consider you a friend....and may be more than a friend!
