Friendships or "relationships"? My best friends are my online friends. I have made the best friends of my life online. My online friends have done more for me and my new baby than people I've known all my life. By that I mean, when invites were sent to my baby showers not one friend had the time to show up, but gifts came in from 3 different states from online friends. NO, I'm not judging friends by what they give me, but you know what I mean. Online friends are always there for you when you need them, unlike friends you can actually go visit who are always to busy to call or stop by & see you.
Online friends are wonderful.
Now, if you're talking about a boyfriend or girlfriend, I have no experience in that area.

It isnt really stupid, but dont act your all best friends, because internet friendships can be all lies. Believe i have had a few of those. I think only one was a true friend out of 20 i must say lmao.

I don't think they are stupid, however you can't really truly get to know a person online. But they can be a good venting source as well as just a person to talk to maybe on late nights your unable to sleep. Are they a true friend.....no there not. But hey just have fun I suppose. Be careful though, many weirdos online much like in the bars I suppose? =)

No. I've met a good friend here. It's a great emotional release valve because neither of us has a proper way to release the tensions in our own respective lives. Perhaps some day we'll even meet.

you will find out that most people on the internet are not what they say are. Most are fake because it draws people to you that way and it makes you feel important. In real life most of us have no life that is why we are here!!!!

Honestly I do not think the are stupid! Sometimes I think I would be lost without my online friends. They are good listners and who would they tell about your problems or whatever is going on in your life. I love my online friends they are the best. Some of them I have had for several years.

They can be fun, they can also be dangerous. Some guy i have never met declared his undying love for me and would not let me talk to anyone else on line and sent me harassing emails. To make matters worse, and this is the scary part, he has my address and phone number. Needless to say, I have learnt my lesson big time and learnt it the hard way.

No. you get to hear some of other people's life adventures, and you learn. you get validation for your feelings, or you get corrections, and find reasons to make changes.
lots of people have Internet "acquaintances" ( not friends, dear; not if you never met them, anyway) of all genders. it's fun
