To my understanding an Evangelist is a man or woman that goes to different churches and speaks to different people in different places! A Pastor is a person that has a "flock" and is in charge of the people that are a part of their church. A minister is a person that brings the word and teaches the people. an Elder is a person that helps the pastor in the church with whatever needs to be done! The pastor is human so they need help also! The evangelist, minister, elder can help council anyone who may need help with situations in their lives! The Pastor can do that also but He or She can't do all of that by themselves!

What do you mean by TV evangelists? If you mean TV preaching then yes and no. Evangelists are pastors who travel the world to preach the gospel, pastors are those who god has appointed to be leader of the church, elders are those that have been saved and in the church for years, and a minister can be anyone who is saved and proclaims the gospel to others.

As a sociological experiment I did in college, I attended a revival that was advertised to bring the miracle of healing. One by one people were being healed. I faked that I was speaking in tounges and the minister pointed me out as a miracle of gods divinity. After the show, I parked a distance away and witnessed one of the healed people placing a wheel chair in the back of a Porsce and drive off. The experience told me a lot.

The current crop of evangelists as exemplified by Pat Robertson, Jerry Falwell...nope I dont like them. To me they are nothing but hypocritical money-grubbing freaks who distort and pervert the true meaning of the Gospels

I dont like any minister who has sponsors dont give me beautiful bible stories to be concluded after a word from our sponsors about all year round tires. Tv Evangelism is a business nothing more.

If they evangelized on TV for the sole purpose of spreading the Word, it would be a blessing. Unfortunately, much of the time, they evangelize to get donations in order to support a lifestyle that would be an affront to our LORD.

Evangelist are full Gospel. I watch John Hagee, he is real good. I always look up the scripture in my bible, we are supposed to, evangelist are just men. They are fallible. Somebody once told me I don't believe in God no more. Jimmy Swaggart sinned. I said we are to look to Jesus not to Jimmy Swaggart or any other christian. And if we sin just imagine how much more the devil would tempt a man who has one millions to christ. Put your faith in Jesus not man.
