I don't know if there is any convincing evidence as to the exact cause, but of the few I've heard of, the one tht makes the most sense to me is 'barometric pressure'. A sudden change in pressure almost always precedes bad weather. That change in pressure can affect blood pressure, mood, and who knows what else, and can cause your mom's 'comfort level ' to decrease as the pressure drops.
When I was 15, I injured my left eye, and as a result of that injury, I fought Glaucoma for about 4 1/2 years. I noticed that when the barometric pressure dropped and the sky became overcast, the pressure within my eye increased, causing more discomfort. -- SO-- there you have it. Hope that helps...

ok, as an athletic coach who works with this common at artwork, it sounds as although you're experiencing patellar tendonitis. The patellar tendon connects the quadriceps muscle mass on the real of the thigh to the decrease leg. The kneecap is encapsulated interior this ligament. by technique of doing those squats, you've infected the starting place website of the tendon, inflicting the soreness you sense as you're mountain climbing the steps. to assist with this i'd advise taking per week or 2 off from doing any squats. on a established foundation (ideally 2-3x / day) do an ice rub right down to the painful section round your kneecap. (make rub down cups by technique of taking styrofoam cups finished of water and freezing. once you employ them, tear away the styrofoam and go away a touch on the bottom so your hands do not bypass numb at the same time as doing hte rub down). once you make sure to provide the squats a attempt again, you'll opt to get a patellar tendon strap (you'll discover this at any respectable drugstore, Walmart or objective for about $7-8) wish this helps!

Changes in atmospheric pressure.
Ever heard of "the bends" or "casons disease" ?
these are conditions divers get from rapid pressure change in the water.
Meteoroligist use a barometer to predict rain.
it senses pressure changes in the air.
An injured knee is more sensitive to pressure change than
an un-injured knee.
ALSO:
Fluid under the injury can expand and contract from temperature as well.
This causes a bit of pain.

Arthritis; it used to be called "lumbago". can't explain it, but a lot of arthritic people have this problem. Has to do with changes in humidity and atmospheric pressure, and the knee not being able to move, etc.
