the best diet is calories. it is impossible to gain weight if you dont eat more than your bodies needs. for muscle growth a diet with high protein and low fat is ideal for building lean muscle mass. of course none of this matters if you dont work out to your bodies max capacity. each muscle should only be worked once a week to allow for recovery time. if you work the same muscle everyday you may notice it gain a little strength and endurance but it will never reach max potential if it isnt given time to grow. when you work out your tear your muscle fibers and they respond by growing back thicker to handle the increased stress you place upon them with your work out making you bigger.
you will also benefit from creatine because altho it makes you temporarily gain weight from water retention the increased water allows you to work out harder and longer allowing you to tear your muscles more than you normally would thus allowing your muscles to grow back more from the increased demand placed upon them.if you are to lazy to work out and only take high calorie weight gainer you will only grow fat. calories are fuel for the muscles so the more you take in the more your muscles can work so the more they can grow.

There are obviously many supplements for weight gain (healthy weight gain) like "Gainers Fuel 2500"...(2500 calories per serving) but they usually go right through you if you know what I mean. Your best bet for weight gain(if you are referring to muscle mass) is a good natural diet first. Lots of protein obviously. Pasta is good, but during the day, when you are most active. Healthy fats is a must. Olive oil, peanuts, safflower oil. (you can use these oils for salads. If you are working out, your best bet is to have 6 small meals a day...A MUST. Protein and carbs. in all six. In two of those meals make sure you add a fruit or vegetable. This will keep your metabolism in check and the weight you gain will be muscle weight. I will suggest a protein powder that I use religiously. it is called "Muscle Milk". You can google it. It has the perfect amount of protein(32 grams per serving), and carbs., and vitamins. It has many flavors that taste great too believe it or not. Use this an hour before a workout, and no longer than an hour after. The most important thing is the 6 small meals a day though. Hope this helps.

First off, do you workout? Do overall body workouts, you can find them anywhere, ill give you some links below later. When you workout, you need to consume more calories then you burn. While you build muscle, you will gain weight, although its no fat, its muscle, since you dont want to gain fat, you will have to eat healthy as well. Try eating whole wheat bread/pasta, for me I think it tastes better. But thats me. Also, never cave into fad diets, they suck and are not for muscle building. if you weigh 75 pounds (jesus thats crazy unhealthy no offense) you will probably need to consume around 65 grams of protein, and when you gian more weight, you will have to increase, the amount (i would say when you gain 5 more pounds, at 3 more grams of protien). Drink protien shakes when you after you workout, and if you cant get the many grams of protien in you, I would say regularly. Also the biggest mistake is to just sit there and try to gain weight by eating ice cream, but that will just kill you and those calories aren't treated equally. Meaning you will get fat, but still gain muscle. you can still do running exercises, no doubt but dont overload on running. Dont be afraid of calories. as long as you eat right and workout you will be fine.

Ensure is the easiest to get over the counter balanced nutritional supplement. It comes in a variety of flavors. Read the label for the one for weight gain. This should be in addition to a balanced diet.

lots of JUNK FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just kidding, eat very healthy meals, just consume more of them. Eat plenty of veggies, lean meats, lots of protein is great for building muscle mass. (nuts, lean meats, eggs, peanut butter, etc.) Protein shakes would be great, and good energy boosters for working out and such.

:) Happy Weight Gaining!
