This blonde girl I know hyphenated her name, now it is Smith-Smith
While I am pretty sure there will be no deformities in the child, it could have mental problems from stupidity!!

How about Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt - distant cousins. If first cousins there is a risk of birth defects or "inbreeding".
A greatgrandfather of mine married someone with the same last name, but the name was taken from the name of a town, so they were probably not related.
Also if a Brown married someone named Brown who changed their name from Braun several generations back, they'd have no common blood either. Same for Schmidt and Smith. Also certain countries have similar last names with no relationship, such as the name Estrada which can be both Italian and Spanish.

Yes, my auntie. My grandmother disapproved, she shifted out for almost 20 years without contact with anyone. Today, my grandmother had accept her marriage, and she gave birth to 3 healthy children. The risk of deformed baby become higher for a couple with close gene....such as sibling. Same surname don't really matter.

I know a celebrity.... Itz Karishma Kapoor & her husband Sanjay Kapoor.
I dont think so there is any problem in marrying the person of the same surname.
Karishma&Sanjay also have a lovely daughter Samaira.
There is no harm in marrying in this case.

Yes and only if they are related over a certain degree. It's the reason why many states ban first cousin marriages.

my friend did, but they were not blood relatives, so there is no risk of having a baby that would be deformed due to close blood relations.
