I know what you mean! My cat Sherbert does this too. She's brought up socks, dish towels, and oven mits! She comes up stairs, howling as someone else put it, then drops it as soon as she gets up here. I thought it was just my cat! I have no clue why they do this though. I sure would like to know.

my cat at least plays with my clean socks (the ones that have holes in them no less) try getting your kitty some toys. I have one my cat loves--it hangs from any door way and it has catnip mice on the end of it

Heh, various sturdy solutions the following. it truly is typically touching on to searching habit. i have were given a cat who gathers up all the toy mice on the bottom of the steps, and sits on a step above them, gazing them. each so often she will be in a position to croon a particular meow even as sporting them, which sounds plenty like how she used to meow even as she might want to convey me a lifeless mouse (Oh, how fantastic, Sammie! it truly is my trendy kind of mouse.) back after we lived out contained in the desolate tract. Years in the past I had a cat who might want to line up lengthy issues contained in the hall way. i might want to come homestead from artwork, and there might want to be the dogs's leash, my bathrobe sash, a shoe lace, all prepared so smartly. Hee. Gotta love 'em.

Your cat is bored. They also like things with the owners scent on it.

Has she got some Toys to play with, if not may be it's just because she's bored and looking for something to play with.

Well, b/c they smell like you. Animals like to have something that smells like their owner when they leave. Dogs chew on shoes when left alone b/c of separation anxiety.
Just my opinion......
