it would be great
that way I know she likes me and I don't have to be humiliated and feel like an idiot when I ask her out and she laughs in my face. for once no pressure!!!

Asking a stranger out is difficult and scary for a guy (you never know how the girl is going to react), so most guys are relieved when a girl asks him first, because it takes the burden off of him to assume all of the risks of trying to start a relationship.
Not all girls appreciate being asked out, so I will have to assume that not all guys will like it either. Some guys will probably be offended at being "hit on" just like some girls do. Oh well, you have to take some risks if you want to get anywhere in life. No guts, no glory.

well it's hard for guys to ask out girls alot of the time it would be cool if girls asked guys out every now and then
um yeah there could be problems of you looking desperate like someone else already said
best way would be to show the guy your intersted in him for a week or 2 before you ask him by then he probably should have asked you out

I think guys like it when girls ask them out, because most of the time we are doing all the work chasing women and asking for numbers, I would get a bit excited if a girl came up to me and asked me out or gave me her number.
