I'm doing an English project on teh history of language... in this paper i read it say the clets contributed somewhat to the Old English, shaopign it and the lot, but it says tahey spread to what is now Ireland, Scotland, Isle of Man, and someother place... it says they 'crossed the chanel' to britain, but it never said where they came FROM. The Cymric Celts to be more exact.

"The first known evidence of the Celts was in Hallstatt, Austria where Celtic graves were found dating from 700 B.C. The Celts from this region were of the first people in Northern Europe to make iron. By 500 B.C. the Celts spread to France, Portugal, Spain, and the British Isles. The Celts moved south and southwest and sacked Rome around 390 B.C. Some Celtic groups moved into the Balkans to what now are Bulgaria and Greece.
Between 300 B.C. and 100 A.D. the Romans conquered much of Europe. The only Celtic cultures to remain were those in Ireland, Scotland, Wales, southwest England, and Brittany in northwest France. Today their modern populations retain stong Celtic elements"

The Celts used to live all over Europe, until they sacked Rome and got the Romans mad at them. Then they were driven back, until they only remained on the British Isles.

This is an oversimplification, but that's the main deal!

can't see Celtic doing a lot in this one (hoping no longer for sure!). United appear like the're basically getting into their stride even as the scum look truly content textile to coast alongside even as Rangers are nevertheless getting their act at the same time. If Ferguson treats Strachan's crew with out more desirable appreciate than they deserve, i imagine his crew might want to win handily.

What the heck is Stand-Up Philosopher talking about? The IRISH ARE CELTS. They are nothing else EXCEPT CELTS. The Irish are the principal group of the Goidelic Celts.

celts were in europe and spread into england, but were never very powerful in ireland. bits and peices of their culture were taken to ireland, but there was never a celtic invasion of that island.
