The probable cause might be stress related as well as nervousness and possibly just my plain stupidity for staying up till 4AM over the summer

I suffered insomnia some years ago.But now I can sleep well early everynight.Insomnia is a psychological disease. At that time my thought was full of tomorrow planning .Sometimes I could not sleep at whole night.I was not a coffee drinker and not a smoker..I went to a doctor and I ate a little pill before sleeping time but I still could not sleep. and I had no taste for meals.I had a poor digestion. But after I drink at least one and a half litre of fresh water a day I can sleep well and automatically I forget the tomorrow plan..

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!

1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.

2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.

The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.

After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net

Ohhh..and Good Luck!

There are a couple of things you can try. The first is don't go to bed until you are tired. Don't watch tv in bed and if you can't sleep get up until you feel sleepy. If you want to take something to sleep, you can try Melatonin. It's would be in the vitamin section. It's totally natural as your body already produces some of you own, but it will help you sleep and won't make you feel groggy as other things do, such as Benedryl.

insomnia is a difficult problem to solve without more information about the cause but my advice is
get plenty of excercise during the day,
no caffeine at all at any time of day,
no food a few hours before bed,
no tv / computers an hour or so before bed (read a book instead)

I discovered that whenever I become insomniac its just because I'm only thinking of me, my problems, my future, my, my, my....get the picture? The minute I shut down my own mental image, and start thinking outside myself: like having loving and compassive thoughts for others, no matter who they are, I become very peaceful, ralaxed and happy.
