ALL is a cancer of the lymphocytes, a white blood cell in the body. It presents most commonly in children, but a small number of adults (usually young) can get it as well. It is a very aggressive disease that can quickly be fatal if left untreated. But because it is so aggressive, it is also very responsive to chemotherapy. Because of the aggressive nature of this disease, patients will need to undergo intense chemotherapy of the type that they need to stay in the hospital for. Depending on the center you are treated at, treatment regimens may differ, but usually will involve intravenous chemotherapy along with chemotherapy that needs to be given to the central nervous system (e.g. via lumbar puncture or a port implanted on the skull). Treatments will usually take over months. Depending on the type of ALL, a bone marrow transplant maybe considered. ALL, unlike other types of cancers, are not divided into "stages", as it involves the blood and is considered systemic (or involving the entire body) once diagnosed.
It is "curable" in the sense that people can achieve a long term remission from appropriate therapy. But it should be treated at a center of excellence, meaning, a large medical center that has experience dealing with a lot of leukemic patients and which can undertake the task of bone marrow transplant if that is necessary.

Ya, it's Curable but the prognosis will depend on the stage which of that Cancer, and it may recur, Mostly this type of cancer occurs in childhood, if detected early,it is curable by Chemo and Radiotherapy, Bone Marrow transplantation is not so easy dear, it will cost u a lot and success of this is alo doubtful, such a Surgical attempt may fail also.

Yes, it is, my son was diagnosed with that condition and i take him at Childrens Hospital every month, and there i get to see many many many of ALL kids who are just under observation going for their yearly check ups and they are doing great, the curation rate in kids suffering from acute lymphoblastic leukemia is 85% in america, that means that from 10 kids who get the condition, 8.5 of them reach the point where they are considered cured. My son just finished his chemo protocol from 2 years and he is doing wonderfully, my best friend has a daughter who was diagnosed more than four years ago and she is doing great too.. just keep the faith and take your patient to his regular chemo sessions, it will be fine...

I had lymphoma, and had a bone marrow transplant in 2003. The doctors just keep telling me that I'm in remission. They really can't call it a cure yet. But I say I'm cured. Gotta stay positive.
