I have seen people answer my question with
"Paul says in scripture...... “
Especially when I state that Jesus has said something that makes the old testament very important to follow. When people dispute it with saying to me that,”Paul says in scripture ........” Are they saying to listen to Paul and not Jesus?
Do you see why I find this not making sense? If you understand this explain. Preferably by scripture please

I find this disturbing that people place Paul’s words as more important than Jesus. Or state that what Jesus said doesn’t matter (not saying that exactly but emphasizing it) when they put Pauls message as a replacement for what Jesus said.

anyone really see my point. i am saying people quote something Paul says in the bible when i say Jesus said (red letter word in some bibles) they use paul's words to contradict something Jesus has said. that's what my pount is, isn't condradicting jesus words wrong when quoting from people that isn't jesus or god to argue a point.

Paul and Jesus don't contradict each other. The words of Paul in the Bible are inspired by God just like every other person who wrote anything in the Bible. People have an imperfect view of Scripture. I haven't read the questions where you feel there is a contradiction but I am sure that if the context of the statements by Jesus and Paul were understood, there would be no contradiction. No part of the Bible is more correct than any other part of the Bible. It is all correct and has no contradictions.

Here's a scenario: You've got 2 groups. Group1 and Group2. Group1 has been chosen by God Almighty to usher in the very Kingdom of God; a literal, physical Kingdom ruling on the earth. (Daniel 2:44)

Group 2 is out doing everything BUT worshipping God.

Group 1 screws up, by crucifying their King when he comes, instead of allowing him to lead the Kingdom from Israel. So another age opens up. The age for Group 2.

The King makes such abundant provision for Group 2, that he pays their sin debt on a cross; completely. But then gives them a BUNCH of spiritual blessings, revelations, and information. So he sends an apostle to do it!

THUS, comes Paul... Christ's chosen apostle for Group 2... NOT to tell them about the "Kingdom of God" like the first 12 apostles (who never even made it to group 2's land) but to proclaim "You have been saved by grace through faith!"

Pauls words aren't "more important" than Jesus...Paul's words are a CONTINUATION of what Jesus did, only it applies specifically to us! Group 1 by the way are Jews, Group 2 are Gentiles. There is MUCH more going on that what you're thinking.

If what Jesus said doesn't matter, why would someone consider what Paul has to say, since we consider him sent by Christ?

If Pauls message is a replacement for what Jesus said, and Jesus said to Paul to go out and Preech the gospel of grace, then isn't it worth reading first, and seeing there's a difference between the gospel of grace and the gospel of the kingdom? They're not the same thing.

Try following Mtthew 16:20 if you can, today...
Mark 16:16

and Romans 11:11 has the verse where Paul magnifies the office he's been given by Christ....not himself.

Paul was an apostle called by Jesus Christ. The bible tells us that ALL of scripture is given by inpsiration of God, not just the "red letters" (meaning, exact quotes from Jesus). Therefore, a Christian will quote the bible as from God, whatever book we reference for an answer.

I follow Jesus, what he said matters more. There are scriptures that Paul said or told of Jesus, this may be what they are talking about,. But I doubt seriously they are saying what Paul say is more important.

Listen to both. The bible is the word of god, Whatever paul said was inspired by the holy spirit, he was a follower of jesus christ.

What they are really saying is that the view every word of the Bible as equal to every other, because they think god wrote it, i.e., you are talking to a fundamentalist.

Liberal Christians allow for errors in the Bible, and thus view the words of Jesus to trump anything else the Bible says.

I follow Jesus, I am yet still a bay christian but I believe Paul as a disciple of Jesus and was sent to spread the word.
Those he spread it to did not know Jesus as a person so when Paul said things they thought of Paul as their spiritual leader.
Remember, at that time they were baby Christians also and just as confused, they were easier to sway.

Paul's word was divinely inspired by Jesus, Jesus Himself wrote none of the bible by hand. If you think that Paul is wrong, look at the other books. Do you see anything contradictory? not unless you look at it wrong.

I follow Jesus.Remember that the words written, were by man inspired by God.Though inspired by God, man and his own personality and thoughts wrote down what God gave him.I don`t know one person today that is perfect and I don`t think there were any one but Jesus who was back then.Don`t get me wrong I believe that the Bible is the word of God and that the more you study it the more you get out of it and understand.

Paul disagrees with Peter too,but his Writings are still regarded as scripture. He must have had relatives in the council that put the bible together.
