She loves me but I don`t love her. I want to break up before she becomes more attached or I do something stupid, like cheat on her.

Depends on how traditional she is. I think you shouldn't say what you want to say in bits and pieces. Do it straight forward and do it in a nicely mannered way.
Don't say like, "I need some time alone" and then ditch her, leave her, never answering her calls, etc. Cause you're gonna leave her hanging and wondering what in the world is going on with you, etc. So just tell it straightforward.
"This relationship doesn't seem to work for me because (your reasons), so I think we shouldn't be together anymore."
Something like that. Don't be mean to her now, because she loves you still so, do it nicely!

The same way you'd do it with a gf from Anywhere, sit her down and explain to her, you just don't think it is working out and you want to break up. Just treat her with respect, she will probably be hurt, be polite and tell her you'd like to remain friends.

Carefully, don't just say Syanada (wrong spelling I know), you have to explain the facts to her, that she is a great loving girl and that any guy would be happy to be with her, but your in love with some one else and have been for a long time, it is not her it is you, white lies always help, good luck!

If you live in the United States you should use US etiquette, which is telling her the truth in the nicest way possible... and do it right away.
