The Gyrfalcon is the largest of all true falcons. An arctic bird, it occupies most of the land in the North. It can occur in three different color phases: dark, gray and white. When it is white, the Gyrfalcon is perhaps the most spectacular of all raptors, a bird most falconers can only dream of owning.

When falconry started in medieval Europe, ownership of a Gyrfalcon was restricted only to emperors and kings. Until quite recently, before Gyrfalcons were being bred in captivity and offered for sale by breeders, wealthy Arabs willingly paid upward of $100,000 for a single white Gyrfalcon!

Come on everyone know this!
