It is a sign of the times that the first thing that popped in my head was that he was stealing your friend's dental work...
Um, for a BBQ grill, take down the license plate number (if there is one - unless he's on foot - that would REALLY be monstrous, because c'mon, grills are heavy) and call the cops.

Great Question. Depends on what area of the country you are in? For example, in Texas, the man would be shot by a 12 Gage shotgun straight off the gun rack in the truck. In Boston, you'd be sued. In California, a stoned hippy would have politely asked it back, and summarily got punched out, quickly. In Minnesota, cross checked by a hockey stick. New York, shot my hand gun, in LA sub machine gun. In Jackson Michigan, Ted Nugent would shoot him down with his bow.
In other words, take a picture if you can, and call 911 FAST!

1. Don't interact with the person. Stay a safe distance away so you're not in danger.
2. Call the police.
3. If you can, get a physical description or photo of the person and the vehicle the person is driving.

Some people woud hide, call 911 and wait for the police...
Some people would call 911, report it and then go out & confront him.
Some people would immediately confront the thief before calling 911.
I believe I would do the latter...Which is probably not as wise as
calling 911 first...

when you see that somebody is stealing ones property which does not belong to him you must rteport the matter to the authorities inorder to ;act on it for his arrest and to answer for it in court proceedings. this pertains ; to everybody and ;not only to a tall monsterous man

If the grill is on, ram him from behind so he falls on the grill, and slam the lid down (repeatedly). Crank up the heat, if necessary.

Call the cops and then tell him to put it back, if you're not sure if he's gonna do something to you, like if he has a gun, then just stay there and try to find out as much info about him as possible.

Well that depends, how close are you to this friend? But if you have to come to us its too late to follow our advise. Keep a cell on you and call the cops.
