Look at Romans 1:20-32. I believe that sin is sin no matter what. We all need to be careful of what we do and say- like the song says- O Be Careful . . . the Father up above . . . is looking down and watching. Who am I to say which sins are ok and which are not. The bible says that all sin is wrong and that there is no degree between them. It also says that we are to flee youthful lusts and that we will be given nothing that we can not handle- God will always provide a way out. Do I sin? Yes occassionally, but I always ask for forgiveness. Living a constant day to day life of sin is a hard burden to bear and I believe God is not happy with it. We will all come to judgement one day and we will all have to answer to God for choices we make. Again, I am not saying that God does not forgive, but in order to be forgiven- you have to ask and change your ways.

Passage Romans 1:20-32:

20For (A)since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, (B)being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.

21For even though they knew God, they did not [a]honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became (C)futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

22(D)Professing to be wise, they became fools,

23and (E)exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and [b]crawling creatures.

24Therefore (F)God gave them over in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, so that their bodies would be (G)dishonored among them.

25For they exchanged the truth of God for a (H)lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, (I)who is blessed forever. Amen.

26For this reason (J)God gave them over to (K)degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural,

27and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, (L)men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error.

28And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, (M)God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,

29being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are (N)gossips,

30slanderers, (O)haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, (P)disobedient to parents,

31without understanding, untrustworthy, (Q)unloving, unmerciful;

32and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of (R)death, they not only do the same, but also (S)give hearty approval to those who practice them.

The bible doesn't say anything negative about gays. The Apostle Paul who was the author of a book in the bible gave his personal opion on the subject, and now everyone is deluded into believing that Pauls words are Gods words which is not the case. Jesus said that some eunichs were born that way, some choose to be that way and some do it for the glory of God. now a eunich is a castrated man. Back then the king had hundreds of wives and they would take a few slave boys and make them work in the harrem were all they kings wives stayed. They didn't want them to have sex with the women so they castrated them. These young men, being raised around women, usually turned out to be gay. Not in all cases but the majority of them. Then lets look at King David and Jhonathian who was king Sauls son. Now it is no secret how much these two loved each other. David said I love you more than the love of a woman. It is obvious they were lovers, yet the church doesn't want to admit it. All in all, God gives all mankind freewill. You can do no wrong in God's eyes. Life is simply a series of events to be experienced, to learn from. How you choose to live your life is your choice, and you have that right to live your life how you choose. If God didn't want gays, then he could kill them all at anytime right? He an't killed them yet. If God doesn't have a problem with it then why do men? I believe homosexualality is natural because you not only find it in the human species, but in plant and animal species as well. Don't let other people tell you what's wrong or right. You have to answer to you. No one else. God gave you freewill. So do as you please. Just don't encrouch on someone elses freewill.

Well first off God hates the sin, but loves the sinner. Meaning he loves the gay person but dislikes the fact he is gay. But that goes for any sin not just the homosexuals it could be in terms of fornication or adulterer..etc...But as far as the Bible and if practicing homosexuality a sin? It's in the Bible, Leviticus 18:22. "Homosexuality is absolutely forbidden, for it is an enormous sin." Like all sinners, practicing homosexuals are called to repent. It's in the Bible, I Timothy 1:10-11, "Yes, these laws are made to identify as sinners all who are immoral and impure: homosexuals, kidnappers, liars, and all others who do things that contradict the glorious Good News of our blessed God, whose messenger I am." Hey I know the truth hurts but you asked...

There are thousands of verses in the bible and over six hundred separate laws, and people obsess about about two or three verses which condemn gays? How about the prohibition against eating shellfish?

I have to agree with the previous answer, Jesus never condems gays, not once, and it would be totally out of character for him to do so in the way some fundamentalists suggest.

Seriously though, this is being used as a wedge issue by fundamentalists to scare their voting blocs into swinging elections for the right wing.

Check out the source below. It goes into great detail on this topic.

I think a "gay" person is a person. God said long ago that He disapproved of certain sexual acts and relationships; homosexuality is only one of those on the "thou shalt not" list.

I really feel that some people single out homosexuals for discrimination to draw attention away from their own sins, especially their own sexual sins. There is a lot more to sexual sin than homosexuality!!! What a cop-out!

However, it is easier to make a "class" of people out of an "abberation", in order to make your own sin appear "normal". The older man who seduces young girls would be a classic example. His sin is equally repugnant in God's eyes, yet who is more "socially" acceptable, and why? How about the bored housewife who joins a club for fun, and starts banging a fellow club member and abandoning her children? Why is that "ok" enough to make into a TV show? Shouldn't that be a deviation from the norm also? I think so!!!

Unless my gay co-worker makes a point to tell me he/she is gay, it is not an issue with me. That is something very deep and personal, as is my own sex life and my own struggles with sexual temptation. It is something that probably should not be addressed, unless an invitation is made into the matter. I don't go shouting such things from the rooftops, and don't understand those that do (shout from rooftops).

Don't hate the person, hate the sin.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10. Reads "Do you not know that, the unrighteous will not inheret the kingdom of god? Do not be decieved. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor HOMOSEXUALS, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of god. Gay people cannot live a normal life because deep down inside the heart of men and women we know that it is wrong and that god never created us to do such things.

There is no "gay problem" but rather a problem with people who cannot understand "love one another" and "judgment is mine saith the Lord."

Gay people are normal. Sexuality is a continuum from mostly straight to mostly gay. Most of the biblical references relate more to the identity of Israel as a people or the need back then to reproduce as much as possible because the childhood death rate was so high.

The bible is full of hate and bigotry concerning sexual orientation. Further proof that the bible was written by men. The God I believe in would not condemn any one for being who they were born to be. Nothing infuriates me more than the ignorant people that say sexual orientation is a choice. I could not choose to be a lesbian because I am not attracted to women. It is as simple as that. You are attracted to who you are attracted to! Period! God does not make mistakes and God created us all. If all you can do is quote that dribble from the bible as justification for your hate and bigotry than you are only proving the extent of your ignorance. Helen Keller said,. " One of the benefits of education is tolerance." Well said ma'am.

Romans 1: 21 - 32 ( Because that , when they knew God , they glorified him not as God , neither were thankful ; but became vain in their imaginations , and their foolish heart was darkened ) ( Prrofessing themselves to be wise , they became fools. ) ( And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man , and to birds , and fourfooted beasts , and creeping things . ( Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lust of their own hearts , to dishonour their own bodies between themselves ; ) ( Who changed the truth of God into a lie , and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator , who is blessed forever . Amen . ) ( For this cause God gave them up to vile affections ; for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature ; ) ( And likewise also the men , leaving the natural use of the woman , burned in their lust one toward another ; men with men working that which is unseemly , and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet . ) ( And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge , God gave them over to a reprobate mind , to do those things which are not convenient ; ) ( Being filled with with all unrighteousness , fornication , wickedness , covetness , maliciousness ; full of envy , murder , debate , deceit , malignity ; whisperers . ) ( Backbiters , haters of God despiteful , proud , boasters , inventors of evil things , disobedient to parents , ) ( Without understanding , covenantbreakers , without natural affection , implacable , unmerciful : ) ( Who knowing the judgement of God , that they which commit such things are worthy of death , not only do the same , but have pleasure in them that do them .)

Just because a guy prefers outies over innies doesn't make him a moral threat to society or less of a contributor to the good of the community. The Bible was written by homophobic bigots.
