It depends on your age. Upper high school? Really shouldn't be a problem. And is the kinder class still half day or all day? All day would mean you would have a much higher accountability. It would also mean that your mom is not available to make sure you are involved in activities and such during the day.
It's a difficult situation, but not an impossible situation. The key is you. If you rise to the occasion, work hard, keep a good attitude and make sure you have involvement with others when your mom is available to take you places, then there is really no legal reason why this won't work.

You didn't mention your age, but from your post you sound old enough to leave at home alone and to be self motivated. Most homeschool kids I know who are in what seems to be your age group are pretty well working on their own at this point with guidance from their parents. I think as long as your Mom checks your progress and helps you with anything you may need such as giving instructions or assignments as needed you will be fine. This will be another opportunity for you to develop some new self sufficiency skills and to see what you're really made of. Be a good help to your mom, this must be hard for her too, leaving you and going back out into the workforce.
Good Luck!

Legally, as long as you are old enough to be left alone overnight (I think it's 12 here in Texas), you can be homeschooled this way. The HS law in Texas doesn't require a teacher to "teach" a certain number of hours, so as long as you do the work, everything should work out fine.

I leave my 11 yo every week for about 1.5 hours to do the grocery shopping and, although he doesn't get nearly as much done as when I'm there, he can get some of his work done independently. My goal is to have him working completely independently (only using me as a reference, not a teacher) within about 3 years.

Time to step up to the plate and show some real maturity here.
Your mom is a busy woman. Help her out by being as independent with your studies as you can. Pay attention so she does not have to go over everything twice. Only ask for help after you have really tried to solve the problem for yourself.
By the way, these things apply to daily living as well as homeschool. Give your mom a break.

High school aged kids frequently do independent study on their own with a bit of guidance from their teacher. Going to a brick and mortar school and having an instructor present 100% of the time you're learning is not necessary.

If you are diligent to study and do the work that is given to you it shouldn't matter that she is standing over you or not.

Will you have anyone to supervise while you study? It is good to have a person available to answer questions if you get stuck. Or just someone to encourage you as you work. Or even someone to remind you to stick to the task of schoolwork.

Do you know how to self-teach? If you can master math facts and do a complete math lesson on your own --- that will be great.

Always remember that the amount of success you achieve will be equal to the amount of work that you are willing to do.

You should check into charter digital schools, like RAI Digital School. That is in CA, and I am sure they would have something similar in TX. Its where you are accountable to "go" to class through the internet, live and in real time online classes. You have assigned homework, deadlines, and tests.

Best of luck!

Have your mom buy curriculum's on cdrom, cause those are made for kids doing on there own more.or if you can't,have your mom plan out everything that you are to do at a minimum a day and then you do that.you can either just do the minimum a day,or go above that and do more.I do all my studies on my own,and my mom hardly ever has to be with me,so don't worry,it is possible.good luck!

She doesn't have to stand over you if that's what you mean. You are required to complete a certain amount of work though, but there are no particular hours to do it.
