cycling or spinning actually.
I would also recommend you Try the following : do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. The 45 minute thing is not true, but don't over 60 minutes at a time.
Do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Read fitness magazines, like Shape and Fitness for motivation and tips.
Good luck and stick at it.

Walking will involve more of your body, but cycling can be a useful way to get around AND burn off excess pounds. You can run errands by bike instead of using a car or getting a ride with someone. Just remember to ride according to the rules of the road, and use your best judgement when deciding if a road is safe to use.
Whichever sport you try, do it with enough intensity to raise your heart rate and breathing rate, but not so much that you feel overwhelmed or extra tired. It will also help if you have a friend along for the walk or ride.
Also, you should try to decrease your intake of carbohydrates and fats. Try to eat more fruit and vegetables. Drink plenty of water, and use sport drinks if your workout involves high miles for a long time. Avoid non-diet soft drinks, as they have a surprising amount of calories.
Safe miles to you,
cybercerdo, bike commuter.

you CANNOT chose spots or areas to loose fat. Fat loss
is a complete body process, and the only way to lose stomach
fat is to expend more calories than you consume overall. Walking
and cyling both burn calories. Cycling burns more calories
than walking. So your answer is, cycling.

why work yourself to death with those options? The most effective method of reducing and shaping your midsection, legs, abs, and rear ;) is swimming. The other excercises will fatigue you quickly. Not to mention that while swimming you will not sweat, you will not fatigue as easily or quickly, you are constantly stretching, pulling, pushing, and a LOT of cardio as well!!!
