Dreadlocks! or shave it off & start fresh with virgin hair, avoid processing it at all. Aussie 3 minute miracle is the best conditioner i have ever used, or the spray on leave in "hair insurance" is pretty good too, but you are talking about some pretty heavy damage. if you want the color to stay better, have a professional do it, or up the volume of your developer most black dyes come with 15-20 volume, you may need to up it to 40 volume, but this is seriously strong stuff! and it will burn your scalp if you are not careful!

your dye hair color does not stay b/c the shampoo you used. To help keep dye hair last longer you can used shampoo that stated "for color treated hair" Every line of shampoo carries color treated hair. Another thing you can do is hotoil treatment to your hair 2 times a wk. leave hotoil in for 30 mins w/ a shower cap than rinse you'll see the difference in you hair. You can also purchased leave in conditioner to help heal damange hair.
You stated the color you use is permanent. That's b/c you purchased permanent hair dye. There are also other hair dye color that are semi-permanent. or those that last about 20 shampoo.

maybe your hair is use to the color or the product has changed give your hair a break for a while then try a different type of black if that doesnt work you hair could be over processed and needs a break if you have hard water at your house that could also play a major part in your color you can also call the makers of the color and let them know

you need to give yourself a protein treatment @ least once a week and pack it with some moisture and get yourself some leave-in conditioner. You know what I do every once in a while?....I'll sleep with conditioner in my hair and just rinse it out the next morning, just slick your hair back in a pony with some good conditioner. All Soft by Redken is good and Healthy Sexy hair products are great too. good luck

Biolage by Matrix makes a great deep conditioning treatment called Cera Repair and the fortifying one is awesome!!!! and color doesn't lift color...putting permenant color over permenant color will do nothing...if your gonna color it, use a demi permenant color it conditions and coats but does penetrate like permenant does...and it fades before it grows out so all you have to do is just do a revive on it and it looks great!!
