The Republic of Ireland is predominantly Roman Catholic.

Northern Ireland (which is part of Great Britain) is largely Protestant -- with most of them beloning to the Church of Ireland. The C of I is a branch of the Church of England -- which is called Episcopalian in the US.

They are the same religion, just different sects.
There are the Roman Catholics and the Anglican Prostestants. There may also be Presbyterians.

I'm from Ireland and mostly its CATHOLICS!!!!!!!!!!! and small percent of protestants(church of Ireland)
