My neice was in a coma for two years due to brain injury in a car accident, but has since regained consciousness. She needs a trachiotomy closed, two front teeth replaced, physical therapy, and speech therapy. She has no funds for these needs. Are there any organizations such as the Schriners who help in this type of situation ? She is 31, and is trying to teach herself to speak by putting her chin down over her trachiotomy. She is in a nursing home in Maryland . She can move her left arm, and use a letterboard to spellm out words.

There is a wonderful facility in Houston called The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR). I know it is far from where you are but they may be a good place to talk with and can maybe direct you to somewhere in your area or assist with other questions that you have.
Good Luck

Send a letter to Lakewood church in Houston Texas to Joel Osteen. This church and congregation does amazing things. They have an outreach program that is phenominal, Unlike many large churches... This one is very special and uniqique.. Dodie Osteen personally helped me in a very delicate situation. Out of thousands of people she called me and counceled with me and the church does a lot of things for a lot of people all across the united states and the world. They are not one of those give me all your money churches. They are for real. Amazing works. !!Amazing!!!!! Also there are new Trama centers here in Texas for people with brain injuries. But in Florida around Miami if one is on medicare that state is the best state for medicare and my Biological mother who is homeless gets the best care for her diabeties and cardivascular disiease she stays in nursing homes and gets physical therapy and doesn't have 2 cents to rub together. They take he to the heart hospital and she gets seurguries . I'm really surprised that medicade or medicare there will not pay for it.. Surely she qualifies. Call Texas rehabilition commision

Call your city, country, and state health agency offices. They should be able to answer your questions. It's their job.
