The media does an excellent job of showing us the negative side of what is going on in Iraq, but I am curious to hear about the great things our troops are doing over there. I would love to hear stories from troops or their loved ones about their postive experiences overseas. Such stories are so inspirational to me, and I am so thankful to those who step up to promote democracy and help create a better way to life to those who need it.

Well, some of my best friends who were stationed over there made it back safely from their first tour. I count that a success story.

We hear daily the tally of our own dead and wounded but we NEVER hear about the combat losses of the enemy. (And I mean the armed militant who is clearly such as they attack our bases there). A rough tally is that something between 50,000 and 75,000 combatants ahve been killed in Iraq attacking Coalition bases and troops. Most of these folks are not even Iraqi, but Wahhabists recruited from other arab countries.

They are literally being mowed down by our boys over there. Most of the gusy I talk to who come back who see the tally every day are incredibly suprised at the media view here that all is lost. These guys have SEEN the enemy stacked up like cordwood....

Our troops bust their *** trying to do the right thing. It's too bad this inept administration put them in the wrong place, without a plan and continue to deny their mistakes to save political face. Don't blame the media - it's a civil war over there and our troops are caught in the middle. And "promote democracy"? Our troops are dying every day so we can "promote democracy"? Too bad they don't want it.

They have a wonder man there in Iraq, and he's my husband an American soldier. The military is so lucky to have him. No matter what the situation is around him his heart is always in the right place. He's my motivation and my inspiration. My husband (we only been married a month) finally had a chance to come home after being away from me for 10 months straight. They gave him 10 days leave and in that time he made me his wife.. My husband is a success story from Iraq because he's giving up all our precious memories, to fight bravely for the things he believe in...... Please support our troops...........

I don't know the answer but I just want to say it is nice to hear such a decent question. So many people here have been brainwashed by the media to spout the same pro-IslamoFascist, anti-American garbage.

The pullin' down of the Saddam statue by...um...Irakis. The showering of flowers an' candies on the troops. Fair tamper free voting by Irakis (they just so happen to agree with our peple), gettin' hundreds of truckloads of oil outta Ira--uh, freedom an' democracy.

Thousands upon thousands of us are sitting at home with our hearts in our mouths whilst our family members and friends are serving in Iraq. My husband is amongst them. A few months ago I stood at the funeral of a 28 year old friend who came home in a body bag. Hundreds of Allied Soldiers have been killed or wounded.Thousands of Iraqis have been bereaved, displaced and suffered the occupation of their country. There is nothing inspirational about War. Nothing.

Sadaam the Butcher is gone. But was it worth $1,000,000,000,000 of our tax dollars? There are people being murdered all over the planet, so why invade Iraq? Couldn't have been all the oil, now, could it???
