They use too much the Z fron zorro or zebra...instead the S used for special.

The latin american don't use the tongue out of the mouth to make Z, C or S letter sound. The spanish most of the time express too much emphasis.

The way Spanish spoken in Spain and Latin America it the dialects. And like you said American man speaking Spainish

It is exactly the same as distinguishing from a Brit and an American. Also, people from portugal have a different accent than the people from brazil even though it is the same portuguese.

Of coarse you can, There are so many dialects. People from different states in the U.S also talk different. You can always tell a southerner, :) spanish is the same way.
