Because many people drive with their penises. Even women...they turn into hyenas.
Also, many people think that driving is one big game of Pole Position. Of course many people have also just finished wacthing The Fast and the Furious or Gone In 60 Seconds on television and they're all riled up.
Additionally, quite a number of people feel completely and utterly impotent and powerless in their lives and the only way they know how to relieve those feelings of worthlessness is to be a menace on the highway.
You know that after they cut you off and swerve into the exit ramp, they go home and kick the dog, right?

Most likely because THEY are not paying attention and are on a cell phone or because they're in a hurry to go nowhere important, etc.. Personally I'd rather be a few min. late and still get to where I'm going than to die trying to be a stunt driver (or kill someone else). Did you know if you miss your exit/turn you can take the next one and turn around? It's true! Try it, you'll be amazed at the results.

no, you dont get a cookie, your either driving to slow or your on your cell phone not paying attention to driving, so we cut you off to get back at you, for being so shtupid, its road rage 101, and it gets worse unless drivers like you get off the road.
