The WORST thing you could do is to NOT tell him. I mean, you could do it politely, but just do it, whatever you do. If you wait a long time, it will only build up the embarasement for both of you. He go's around all day every day with bad breath that no one has the guts to tell him about. I mean, if you went to an important job interview, and you had some nasty green stuff on your face and everyone gagged at the sight of you and some other jerk got the job position just cause the boss coudn't stand to look at you, wouldn't you want someone to tell you about it, preferably your significant other BEFORE the interview? And his excuse would be "I didn't want to embarase you...". Well, just ask yourself "Which is more embarasing?". If I have a problem of any kind, I want someone to tell me about it so I can fix it. If you don't tell him, who will?

Haha. I have been married a few years now and I just say "oh man! You stink, get away from me!" Haha! That might not go over so well eh? You could maybe make indirect and ask him if ate garlic for lunch? Or if he eats it alot? You could say.."I totally love how garlic brings out the flavour in foods but it doesnt smell so great..here are some super powerful starbucks mints!" Good luck!

Nobody likes to hear that "you have bad breath"....you must be very soft. Taking him to the dentist and showing him you want to kiss a nice guy with good breath and you do mind the problem so you're colaborating doing something about it.

There is no easy way...Just tell him...I had the same problem with my hubby...He thinks it shouldn't bother me...Yeah, right!
I'm with you...I don't want to kiss if the breath is bad.

Just tell him--but remember to be tactful about it. Tell him you are concerned...bad breath could be a sign of diabetes or tooth decay he isn't aware of.

my advice is just to tell him... or offer him gum/mints. I'm sure he'd rather you inform him of the problem so he can fix it, rather than wondering why you dont want to kiss him anymore...
