GNC has a supplement called "Nourishair" that makes the hair grow faster, you can read what's in it by googling it.
Also ProCaps labs sells a "hair skin and nails" formula that does the same thing, supports hair growth and health
If you take only Biotin alone, make sure you take at least 2.5 milligrams or 2500 micrograms [the same thing] a day because thats' a good amount to take. I use the Nourshair supplement from GNC now and my hair is growing faster than it did, but it took about 6 to 8 weeks of daily use to see results.

Black people's hair does grow. We live and breathe, right? Therefore cells regenerate in us just like they do in white people or asian people. In the West, many who are considered Black, are actually mixed with many races. Therefore our hair is very different. On top of that, you add the way we tend to wear our hair: relaxed natural weaved braided etc. Relaxing involves a process that puts NaOH (lye) on the hair shaft to change its chemical structure to make it straight. This by definition weakens the hair shaft, and in some causes a lot of breakage and short hair. If we choose a natural style, the coils of kinky hair is like a helix and can be tightly wound. An inch in hair growth may not appear noticeable if the hair is coiled. Compare that to an inch of straight hair growth, thats easily visible. Whats more is that coiled hair can be fragile because natural oils cannot lubricate the entire hair shaft, as they can with straight hair. Styles like weaves and braids, if not done correctly or too tight can cause breakage. Finally a way to dispute your assumption, is to look at people that have opted to wear locs. They can grow their hair phenomenal lengths because strands loc together to create a stronger lock of hair. This is true for people who allow their hair to naturally loc (think Rastafarians) or people to choose to loc for non religious reasons. Check out hair sites like: www.nappturality,com, www.nanni.com, www.motowngirl.com for examples of a variety of black hair textures, lengths, styles and techniques for more information.

Your wrong, as long you live and breathe hair will grow. African Americans hair growth rate is much slower than everyone else. There are a lot of African Americans with long hair which they grew. It takes a lot of work to keep our hair up, and some prefer to cut their hair.
