2D Animation Software and Graphic tablets?

Does anybody know what programs I would need for 2D animation or know about Boom Toon software. Also what Graphic tablets are good?

Can't answer first question, sorry, but for second, go for Wacom. They have a variety of sizes and prices. I use a 4x6 one I got for $85 a few years ago, and its been great for my purposes. This is my second one ... wore the first one out after about 8 years of using it.
