Dogs often lick wounds in an attemtp to speed healing. When a dog loves someone, a person or another animal, licking a wound is a sign of caring like grooming.

Go to the doctor asap. Dogs can detect funny things about sores and warts. I'm not saying this to scare you but dogs can detect diseases including cancer by their sense of smell which is 40,000 times more sensitive than ours. Don't panic about it but get it seen to. If it's just a scab from a cut, it may be that the dog likes the taste or is caring for/ preening you.

It really has nothing to do with Breed. Most dogs will do the same. He sees you as an injured pack mate and is trying his little doggy best to make sure it doesnt get infected and that you get well.

Ultimately he is just showing his or her love.

dogs can sense if something is hurting on their owners so they lick it to feel better. one time my dog was limping and his best friend started licking his paw like he was trying to make it better. i thought that was cute.
