I have a document openoffice wirter and I want to save it on a disk and take it to school and print the document out there but I don't know what version of MS word they have does it matter which format I put it in?

Besides saving it in MSWord format, you might also save a copy in rich text format (rtf) just to be safe. It wont have all the same formatting, but better than being stuck without the document you need if for some reason the MSWord one/s can't be opened!

It is very unlikely that your school is still using a version of MSOffice below version '97. I believe (from memory) that the format for MS Word versions '97 until 2003 are the same. You won't have problems opening the document if you save in any version from '97 to 2003. But if you want to be sure, also save it in a version below '97 with a different file name. Good luck!
