Spaying the dog before the first heat cycle reduces the risk of breast cancer to less than 1%, before the second heat cycle reduces the risk to less than 8%, etc. It is not better to let the dog have a litter.

Your Chi needs to be spayed before her first heat cycle. This will not affect her growth at maturity. That has already been determined by both Sire, Dam, and ancestry.

I've never heard that before, but between 5 and 6 mo. is the best time to get them spayed (before they have their 1st heat cycle).

Most people get them spayed about seven months old I always let the girl have one litter of pups with Chihuahua's that is usually one or two pups they seem to make better dogs. But yes when they have been fixed they will get way to fat unless you keep them on a diet absolutely no table nibbles. My little boy and girl are spoiled rotten and I LOVE them that way. Take care of that baby girl.

6 months is the age pets are supposed to be neutered......There is a breed called giant chihuahua. It is said that it is like the original aztec chihuhahua. The chi history is unknown. If you got the dog from a show breeder, she will not carry this gene

fairly early neutering DOES influence the dimensions of the canines, they have carried out a study on it. although, it fairly makes the canines improve higher. If an animal is permitted to sexually mature, then this in many cases makes them provide up turning out to be. after we neuter early this suggests this signal does no longer bypass off and they proceed to augment. regrettably i ought to no longer discover the web website again, yet I spoke back a question in this in basic terms over per week in the past. the item says that we are were pushed to desex our animals early by using undesirable proprietors, so that they all started neutering earlier so canines does no longer fall pregnant on their first warmth.

Spaying your animal has no effect on their size. Plus it will not make them "fat". Your best bet is to get it done before the first heat. Just ask your vet.... they know best!

Hm. :-\ I've never heard that; I don't see how getting them spayed can make them bigger. I don't think you have any worries there.
