and i dont just want to walk with him all the time or run. i'm getting bored of that. and i'm only 13 so i cant go to the beach (which is far from where i live). and he never wants to do anything. he's bored of playing with his friend, he doesnt want to play with the frisbee or a ball or anything. he just lays all day. and when i do take him to the beach he doesnt swim. i cant take him to a beach where people go because thats illegal. and i dont have a pool. plus he can drink the clorine and get sick. all the other dogs are active and swim but mine just sits all day snapping at flies. i'm getting sick of it already. and theirs nothing fun that i can do with him. i dont want to run all the time or walk. also today we were at a park next door to me and i was trying to throw the ball and he's just sniffing at something then this one dog came and when the dog came to play my dog just went away then when the dog was playing fetch with his owner my dog went to the other dog again then left.

You could always get in volved with a cainine sport like agility i've been trainingand competing in it since i was 8 years old and i'll be 18 on the 27th of this month. It's really fun and good for and good for your dog. or you could look into other sports flyball, herding (if he's a herding breed), course-a-lure if he a Jack Russell terrier, frisbee if yiu can convince him to play fetch or you can trian him for basic obdeince. Obdenice and preety much any of the things i metioned are good for you and your dog and there fun. like i said i've been in agility for almost 10 years and i've been in herding for about 5 years. But i can garentee you that if your bored your dog will be to, when you exerise him you got to switch things up a bit and make everything a game. If you want more info on any of the stuff in my answer you can e-mail me at strawberryhillkennel@yahoo.com. Good Luck

you may want to have your dog checked out by a vet maybe there is an underlining illness that makes him lazy...
or that's just the way he is, not all dogs are the same,
have you tried bike riding with him?
maybe you have to be creative and find something that you both like to do, but walking is very important for any dog.
i hope that helps, good luck!

I had a sick greyhound that I needed to exercise too. This sounds childish, but I taught him to play 'Duck, Duck, Goose!' I would put him in a down stay, start walking away saying duck, duck, duck, and yell goose AFTER I started running. It got him moving. It really was quite comical. . .but effective.
