My boyfriend is a chef and loves basic more family-style type dinners since he gets a bit over loaded on the fancy stuff. The only things he doesn't particularly care for is carrots and raisins. I'm looking for some new recipes for what to feed him.

HONEY GLAZED TURKEY WINGS

4 whole turkey wings
vegetable oil
1/2 c. honey
2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. ginger
4 tsp. worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. parsley

Rinse wings, pat dry with paper towel. Cut wings into 2 pieces. Brush wings with oil. If cooking outdoors, place wings over slow coals, for indoor cooking, use low heat. Both methods, cook wings 25 minutes, turn and cook additional 25 minutes. Meanwhile, combine honey, lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper, sauce and parsley. Test wings for doneness, cooking longer if necessary. When wings are done, brush wings with honey. Glaze and cook 1 to 5 minutes longer, or until wings are well browned

Macaroni and Cheese with Broccoli

1/4 cup butter or margarine, divided
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1 (8-ounce) package shredded Cheddar-American cheese blend
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper
1 (10-ounce) package frozen broccoli, thawed and coarsely chopped
8 ounces elbow macaroni, cooked
1/4 cup fine, dry breadcrumbs or 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Melt 2 tablespoons butter in a large saucepan over medium heat, and whisk in all-purpose flour; cook, whisking constantly, 2 minutes.
Whisk in milk gradually; cook, whisking constantly, 5 minutes or until mixture thickens. Remove from heat. Add shredded cheese, salt, and pepper, stirring until cheese melts. Stir in broccoli and pasta. Pour into a lightly greased 11- x 7-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs; dot with remaining 2 tablespoons butter.

Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

To lighten: Substitute equal portions reduced-calorie margarine, 2% reduced-fat milk, and 2% reduced-fat shredded sharp Cheddar cheese, and reduce salt to 1/4 teaspoon. Cook as directed, and pour into baking dish. Stir together remaining margarine, melted, and breadcrumbs; sprinkle over pasta mixture. Bake as directed, and let stand 5 minutes before serving.

8 lamb chops
1/2 c. olive oil
1 tsp. oregano
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. pepper

Mix olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, lemon juice, and pepper in bowl. Pour over lamb chops, ensuring each piece is coated. Cover and refrigerate at least 1 hour. Grill for 20 minutes or broil for 10 minutes or until desired doneness. Baste while cooking for a more flavorful taste.

(this recipe can be halved)

....

american chop suey (elbow mac, spaghetti sauce, green peppers, onions and hamburg) with salad and fresh bread

meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans

pot roast
...
tasty pork chops & rice

5-6 pork chops
season all (or seasoning to your taste)
worcestershire sauce
1 can cream of chicken soup
4 oz tomatoe sauce (1/2 of an 8 oz can)
1 beef bouillon cube
2 cups boiling water
3/4 cup uncooked rice

In large skillet brown the pork chops, covering them with Season-All to taste and Worcestershire sauce (I use the tines of a fork to pierce the chops so the sauce soaks through).
While chops are browning, dissolve the beef cube in the boiling water. In a bowl, mix with the remaining ingredients.

Remove chops from the skillet and set aside. Turn the heat down to low. Pour the rice mixture into the skillet; place the chops on top.

Cover the skillet with a lid, simmer on low heat 45 minutes, or until done.

During the cooking, add water as needed to keep the mixture from drying out. When the rice is done and the chops are tender, serve.

Check out the URL.. you can search using ingredients on hand and get all sorts of quick, easy and nutritious meal ideas.

Dark vegetables are always nice - multi-coloured peppers, maybe stuffed; asparagus; broccoli;

or try a big baby spinach salad with hard boiled eggs, red onion, sliced mushrooms, chopped cooked bacon; and a ranch dressing - serve up with some garlic bread each...

Good luck!

Good old fashioned cooking from the south is ussually pretty good stuff. But honestly if you want to find good recipes look at allrecipes.com. It is a free site and they have thousands of recipes that you can look at. People have put down meal ideas and you can read their lists there as well. It is great. Plus I havent found a recipe there I havent liked and they are all rated with a star system by real people, and the recipes come from average joes not chefs so most of it is pretty simple.

One of my favorite home cooked meals is Roast Beef with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy.

Roast Beef

Small top sirloin or top round cut of beef
season with Lawry's Salt, Garlic Salt and Black Pepper
Roast approximately 23 minutes per pound at 325 for medium to medium rare.

Remove from roasting pan to rest covered for 15 minutes or so.

Place roasting pan on stove top.

While beef is resting take 8 oz of water and 3 rounded tbsp of flour and shake them together in a covered container and pour into the drippings in the pan. Stir vigorously over medium high heat. Season with salt, pepper, garlic salt to taste. Keep adding seasonings until rich in flavor.

Serve with mashed potatoes and your favorite side of veggies.

Wow, this should be easy!
Lasagna, Chicken Divan, Turkey Divan, vegetable soup, roasted chicken, steaks on the grill, swordfish on the grill. Serve a green salad and a fresh loaf of bread. There must be hundreds of easy, family style meals that would be easy to make and that he would appreciate and enjoy. Check the internet for recipes. Enjoy your meal ......
