The stem cells that produce pigment in the hair begin dying off or behaving oddly. (See the link below.) There's really nothing to do about this. It's controlled by genetics, so some people turn gray earlier than others. Most people who want to deny the grayness in their hair turn to hair dyes. Others embrace the distinguished look. So when the gray hairs start appearing, either cover them or flaunt them, but know that you can't fight the process.

Heck my mom turned gray after she had me and that was when she was 19!! Graying, I was told is hereditary which shows true to my family. I am the last one to get gray and it's not very much and I am in my 50's. There is no preventing it. The only thing to help cover it comes in a box and do it yourself coloring. .

gray hair happens because the hair itself is losing its pigment. it is a programmed thing- mostly determined by your genes. There isnt anything you can do to prevent it, unfortunately. If oyur parents went gray early, chances are you might also. It bites, but its just a natural part of life and getting older.

It's due to a lack of pigment in the hair and there's not a way to prevent it. It's based off genetics.

It's from a depletion of a specific mineral naturally held in the body and no, there is no way to prevent it.

Stress can cause it. But it can also be inherited and then there is no way to stop it.
