I can honestly say I'v never heard of a tired exploding because of low air pressure. In my experience, it's always because of too much air. Like someone said, they pop like a balloon over filled with air. Also, when you drive, the temp. of your tires heat up. This causes the air inside your tires to heat up. Heated air expands. So this can also cause a tire to explode. I've always heard that semi-truck tires so frequently explode because they are used, retreaded tires and sometimes the new tread that's glued on comes unglued.

The Explorers tires were gernading because of LOW air pressure.Low pressure builds up 2 much friction between the belts in the tire because it flexes 2 much.TOO high air pressure usually causes the tire 2 separate & break belts causing the tire to wobble a while B 4 it gernades.

none as long as its not too far from the ideal pressure. you would have to use the tire a long time with high or low pressure for the tire to be damaged to the point of exploding. tires are very safe these days, explorers tires where exploding not from high or low pressure, but because of fabrication defects.

well obviously it requires damge to the tire so the air pressure issue is invalid unless ur talkin abot pumping ur tire up totill it blow the heck up...usually a blowout results when the tire tread separates from the carcass causing a sudden loss of control (ie. the tire tread u see on the highway from big rigs....if u need more info call or e-mail firestone tires www.firestone.com
