don't worry about it, ubuntu is both a live cd and an install cd.

once you've burned the .iso to a cd it boots and runs as a live cd but with an icon on the desktop that lets you install it for real whenever you choose. :)

Just grab the .ISO file for your platform, probably the PC (Intel x86) desktop CD. It's both a live CD and install CD. Burn the ISO to a CD and just boot from it.

You can then run it as a live CD to see what it's like. If you like what you see, click the Install icon on the desktop. Be warned that the default install it will repartition your hard drive and you'll lose everything on it!

next time, whilst the computer starts off as properly, press to get into setup. Open the CD drawer, take out the CD, then go out the setup demonstrate screen and the computer will start up the boot technique returned. some desktops, in the event that they see a CD in the force on the beginning up of the boot sequence, do no longer boot precise if the CD is taken out. so which you should take the CD out, then tension the boot technique to restart. Exiting setup does that.

Most linux flavors that you will get from below link are live-cd bootable and instructions are on their websites. You may try a one-cd linux like DSL (damn small linux), or PUPPYLinux...
