Im going to apply to the exercise rider program that is at Olds College in Alberta, anyways im starting to train so i can pass the fitness test..hahaha.any tips on what types of exercise routines u riders do?? i know upper weight lifting is popular...also about how much weight can u lift?? any tips would be great.

When I rode as a exercise rider I did the same thing I still do today.
Some Yoga, helps to maintain flexibility and teaches you how to control your body in less than ideal situations and how to breathe to release fear and stress.
Pliates strenghtens core muscles so you can hold yourself in positions to ride and does not build bulky muscle but builds long lean muscle more like a dancers.
Barn work and everything else that comes with working around horses and ate a very balanced vegiterian diet.

weights .. its 60% of the total weight u can lift in one go! second reference is that u should lift that much weight with which u can do only 8 repetitions.
more over if u ve horse , try touching both toes in turn on walking/trotting/cantering horse. it ll be great help. mail back after u ve done this for 2 weeks.
