How would you decide who has the greater right?
This is a matter of opinion by the way and I am not judging answers, just curious.

i hate to answer this with another question but i must ask.

are you struggleing with a tough decision that may regard life and death?

I love your questions but i have noticed a theme that seems to point to some kind of inner struggle.

anyway an actual answer to your question

it would depend greatly on the situation, if it was the life of my child,,then their life comes first.

if it was the life af any child their life comes first,

but if it is just some random person, i really would like to say that i would risk my life to save theirs, but i have a family to take care of too, so the ammount of risk that i would go to would vary greatlyon the situation.

To be honest with you Debra, noone really knows what they would do in that kind of situation until they are there. I believe with all my heart, though, that if it came down to it, and it really was between me choosing to live, or to die while saving the life of another person, I would probably sacrifice my own life for them. The reason is because in my faith (I am Muslim), if you save the life of another person it is as if you save the population of the entire world. Even if I had to sacrifice my own life to do that, I probably would, because I know in my heart this isn't the real life any way, and my soul will go on. What a great way to meet your Lord, as someone who has died rescuing someone else.

Hi Debra, I just finished watching Schindler's List, a tragic and moving film of a money-hungry german who turns into the savior for 1,100 Jewish families at the end of the Holocaust.

After seeing the broken post-war Oscar Schindler sobbing for not saving one more person, just one more, then I have to think that I will do my part to save one more.

I learned about twenty years ago that I wouldn't.

We were on deployment in Japan and had received word that there was a suspected Soviet spy in the midst of the thousands of U.S. Troops.

Some one thought it would be funny to throw a dummy grenade into my companies tent, which housed about thirty troops. Two other men and I jumped on top of that dummy grenade to save the lives of our fellow soldiers. Some people dove out the doors and managed to make it out the sides of the tent. Some dropped to the floor. Others stood their frozen in shock and disbelief. Some stood their cussing. Others were clueless as to what was going on . the three of us who dog piled the dummy grenade just happened to be the closet ones to it.

It had nothing to do with heroics or medals, morals, or patriotism, it was simply to keep the casualties low. Everyone reacted on instinct and I don't think anyone as a bad person for how they reacted.

The idiot who pulled the prank was soon rewarded with a bad conduct discharge.

Don't you believe that we as citizens of the US all have equal rights. That is the ones that aren't incarserated and lost their rights. I'm not certain that I understand the complexities of this question. What greater right due to what circumstance is a big issue and therefore needs to be explained with more detail. At least in my world it does.....hope you have better luck with others answers......I'm too analytical to say yea or nay until I know more.................peace

It really depends. I mean if I feel the other person could go further in life (spreading the news about Jesus) than I would, I would spare them and I would take it. If the person really did not know Jesus I do not know. On one hand I could spread the news better, but then again if I was to sacrifice myself for a non believer what better testament to the non believer about God. Who knows what the person could do then. As to answer your question I would have to say I really do not know. God Bless.

I would love to say that I would choose for another person to live over myself, but I can't say what I'd do in that situation. The human survival instinct is great enough that it is likely that I would engage in behavior I would normally consider highly immoral.

I can say with as much certainty as possible that I would place the life of a child over my own.

Peace to you as well.

I can't say how I would react in such a situation. It would depend on the other person, who they were... I do know that I am going to heaven, so perhaps if the other person needed more time to make a decision for Christ, I would (not in my power but in Jesus' power) lay down my life. Hard to say in truth....

Some things are automatic. Instinct tells me that I would step in for my children, as I have in many things.

If you're in a limit situation, you don't stop to ponder about the pros and cons of your action. If your life is at risk, you try to save it, no matter what. Probably if the love you feel for another person is strong (for example, if it's a close relative, or friend) you might give your life to save theirs, but in general, you will try to save yours, and nobody can blame you for that.

wow, you sure do ask intriguing questions.

I hope I never am in such a position to have to make a decision like that. I hope I would do what was honorable, which I think, in most cases, would be to let the other person live. I would definitely have to pray about it to know what to do.
