Sounds like allergies. Without knowing alot of history, bathe the dog and put some white vinegar in the rinse that soothes and helps stop iotching or rash. Then see a vet. Possible a reaction to food or a bit or something too. hope your friend is better soon!!!!

The chances of receiving accurate information on line by non professionals is not very good. What you should do is take your puppy to the vet. If you had red skin, how long would you wait until seeking medical attention?

Definatley take him to the vet in the morning. Could be any number of things. Taking someones advice on what they think it is and treating him yourself can do more harm than good. Seek a professional to tell you with certainty what is wrong.

He is probably allergic to something. Make sure he has no fleas (Advantage is good for this). Otherwise it's possibly diet. Don't feed him cans (major cause of allergies). A few good qualities biscuits are ok, but make it mainly raw meat and some bones - chicken carcasses are great. And no, raw chicken bones are not going to hurt him!

It's a fungus or rash, it will go away if it's a rash, but if it's a fungus you should take it to the vet, take it to the vet anyways, but it can be sunburned, but I have a dog and she's very red around her neck, it's turned out ot be a fungus, but trust me, you should take him/her to the vet.

Prednazone is what vets usually recommend. You can also buy some over the counter meds for "hot-spots" as they are called.
