1 Peter 4:

3For you have spent enough time in the past doing what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry. 4They think it strange that you do not plunge with them into the same flood of dissipation, and they heap abuse on you. 5But they will have to give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

this is what 1 Peter 4:3-5 says

3-5You've already put in your time in that God-ignorant way of life, partying night after night, a drunken and profligate life. Now it's time to be done with it for good. Of course, your old friends don't understand why you don't join in with the old gang anymore. But you don't have to give an account to them. They're the ones who will be called on the carpet—and before God himself.
and yes it is true because when people become Christians the Devil does not like it so he will try and bring old Friends around and get you to go back to your old ways but with God's help you will win the battle and your old friends will not come around anymore because you have changed but for the good........

What's interesting, is that the the things that Christians said about Pagans at that time is the same things Pagans were saying about Christians.

Do you think Pagans would complain about those horrible Christian ways of drunkenness, lust, orgies, (not to mention child sacrifice) if they thought it was okay? It's all propeganda, pure and simple.

As long as you stick to the real meaning of Scripture and not try to play any old tune with it. 2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is inspired of God. The problem is that men and Satan create doubt to stumble others. Woe to those that stumble the Children of God...better to have a millstone around the neck and be pitched into the Sea...that to mislead and stumble others from life belonging tthe grand creator

Hey Ken,

Yes, that is true. Everything in the Bible is true. What that's saying is that when we decide to live for God and not do those negative things and maybe our friends or others we know do they see that we don't do those anymore and they would wonder why. That's a perfect oppurtunity to share with them a little more about our faith!!! :) It's about God, morality and Christ through the Power of the Holy Spirit (God's Spirit) forgiving what we did in the past after we accept Christ as our Personal Savior. After that Christ does live in us through the power of the Holy Spirit and also after that we should live holy lives in morality and striving to be Christ like and living pure/moral in everything we do.

Check out Colossians 3:1-3 1Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.

and Romans 12:1 about why we should live holy lives

1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

Hope that helps :)

No, it's not. they portrayed pagans as heathens because they thought they were right, and pagans were not. However, the christian religion takes bits and pieces from different religions before it, and it is evident that they emulated some aspects of the pagan religion.

It is quite unfortunate to even this day, many people consider pagans to be the "devil". As if.

Sounds right. When you give your life to Christ honestly the things of the past (your old life) don't seem as important to you. You're delivered. It's awesome!!!

This hasn't happened to me personally. But I know of people who have been born again and it's really upset their drinking buddies that they don't want to go out and get drunk anymore.

Of course it's true.

nah don't worry about it.

Go ahead and join as many orgies as you want, nothing bad will happen, except maybe an STD or two.
