The issue of God’s existence has been dissected and placed back together by intellectual giants on both sides of the fence. Brilliant minds such as Bertrand Russell and David Hume have severely criticized the intellectual credibility of theism. However other great philosophical and scientific thinkers, such as Jonathan Edwards and Blaise Pascal, have strongly held to the theistic worldview. This is why I would never say that either side is for the weak minded.
As far Christianity (a branch of theism) is concerned, mental defectiveness is not necessary. If you talk to right people and read the right books you will find that Christianity is actually solidly supported by science, philosophy, history, and experience. Naturally, there is always going to be objections in all those areas, but you will find that both sides are supported very well. Unfortunately, many people have personal biases, do not look into the belief enough, or have many facts wrong; which results in a twisted view of Christianity.

No, but a conversion to Islam would consist of a lack of brain function to begin with. I would personally stick with Christianity. Even with the mantal defect attached.

It depends. The term Christian actually refers to a wide variety of people, including Catholics, Lutherans, etc. I think you could be mentally very healthy and convert to a type of Christianity that makes sense to you.

Ya might look at it that way. You have to be willing to allow an invisable relitively unknown (to you) to guide your life. Some think this is kinda crazy but they have not taken a step back and looked what being there own guide has done. You call it crazy I call it faith, potatoe patata. Names are just that names. I do not think crying out for help is crazy I need it to stop me from killing these radical republican that spoil the landscape.

You are a total imbecile - so you can do what you want.
You wouldn't know the difference between
a mental defect and religion.

Yes you would have to die to yourself. Take up your cross and follow Jesus.

He shed His blood on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins.

Think about it - He loves you and doesn't want you to perish.

Hope you join the ranks someday with the rest of us "mentally defective" but heaven bound folk.

No, willful ignorance isn't a mental defect, it's just laziness.
