is there such a thing as this in BUDS Seal training for corpsman? It is where an injured goat is used to simulate a casualty. The corpsman needs to carry it for miles while keeping it alive. I don't know how true this is. This was equivelant to an urban legand when I was in

you are talking about GOAT LAB ,it is or was for 18D special forces medics,it is contriversial to say the least.I have friends who are 18delta @ ft lewis and will NOT talk about it one way or the other.goat is gut shot then saved or lost by the skill or lack of skill of the trainie.considering the way we kill cows and chickens by the millions 50-100 goats a year is small potatos to save the life of a special forces soldier who is there to save our lazy behinds!

I highly doubt the Corps makes Corpsmen use injured goats to simulate casualties. That could be looked at as animal abuse...
Navy Corpsmen are cool!

I'm not sure, but I can say if me and my buddies carried a goat for miles, I would hope there was a BBQ pit at the end of the task, so we could grill it as we would need the protein.

No, my father in law went through BUDS. With all of the stories about it he told me. Not once did he mention carrying a dying goat.

several years back there was a big flap over the military anesthetizing dogs, shooting them and allowing military doctors practice repairing gun shot care. it stopped. guess the dog lovers thought it would be better to practice on wounded soldiers.
