Did you mean to say Apostles and not Disciples?
A disciple of Jesus Christ is a person that is trained in the teaching of Christ. Where an apostles is one who has been trained and is now commissioned to go forth and heal the sick and cast out demons. There is a big difference.

Case in point. I'm a Christian and a disciple of Jesus Christ.

My favorite is the least wrote about or known of. His deeds are in God's memory.

P.S. I read all the answers given, one in particular seemed to get your attention. This was from, fenian 1916. She said she liked Peter because he founded the Catholic Church.

Peter did not have anything to do with the founding of this church. The Catholic Church or Universal Church was created in the year 325AD with the conqueror Constantine. Its in all the history books. Look up the Council of Niacin for proof.><>

Judas, definitely. And before I get a bunch of hate mail, look at the story. The idea was that Jesus came to die on a cross for our sins right? I mean, he did other things but that was the end goal. In order for that to happen, someone had to betray him. That had to be a hard thing to do, and you know everyone hated Judas for doing it. Even now, for heaven's sake, it's an insult to be called a Judas. It was a dirty job the man had, but someone had to do it. He did. Go Judas!

Wow... big time error, Peter WAS NOT the "rock the church was built upon" but his confession WAS!

Petros in Greek is pebble, petra, the foundation of the church, is bedrock. The name is roughly analogous to Rocky, but clearly, the confession was the intended foundation.

... "doubting Thomas" was also the one who said, "Let us go also, Then we can die with Jesus.” Jn 11:16

CEM, Read Luke 10:9, in the sending of the 70: "Heal the sick people who are there. Tell them, ‘God’s kingdom is near you.’""

Phillip

Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
And there was great joy in that city.

I like Peter (I don't buy the whole Catholic thing). I like him because he seemed so real. So much of his personality is shared with us in Scripture. He screwed up a lot, like I do. Yet he walked on water and he loved his Lord.

I like Paul the best...but of the original 12...hmmm...Peter...he had the faith to step out of the boat and walk on water to meet Jesus...I long for that faith!

Peter--he was most loved by Jesus, and I feel that he truly shows Jesus' love for us. Although he denied Jesus 3 times, Jesus knew and loved him anyways.
