English is an old language, and it has many roots, including German, French, Latin and Greek. It's not much of a wonder that both spelling and grammar are difficult. How do you untangle all those unrelated etymologies?
I think a lot of people just skip the spell checker. I've used it and found it to be very limited. There are a lot of words that aren't in it. That's also true for word processing software (think MS Word), although many do allow you to create your own special dictionary.

Why not try to answer the question asked and forget about the spelling. Only people who dont have good ideas about a particular question goes about complaining about spelling, when they should be answering the question.

Well it's either because people are in a rush, or don't care or are just horrible spellers. And at least when I ask questions there isn't spell check.

Maybe it's a conspiracy to annoy people with decent spelling/grammar.
I can't stand it either, but seriously people are just plain lazy.
