If you pay all workers the same basic starting wage then the quality of your product will increase. I understand saving a buck, but I also understand the law of reasonibility and hormonal attitude. Just because they are immigrants does not give you or anyone else the right to abuse them in any way shape or form. It's called decency and condition of human existance.
Payiong all workers the same basic starting wage will condone competition and others to do a job better and safer to feel they have earned that payment.
You're question did not mention the social status of the immigrant, like legal or illegal ...just that they were immigrants. Even illegal immigrants should be paid better than a few pennies on the dollar, but that's a completely different political agenda.

If US companies had to pay illegal immigrants the same pay that they do legal US workers, there would be no incentive for them to break the law and hire illegal immigrants.
And why do you all keep leaving out the word "illegal"? I mean, that changes everything. If we are talking about immigrants, if they are in this country legally, then they MUST be (by law) paid the same wage as a US citizen. So you want ignorant? Read your question.

They don't get the big tax cut in their checks and don't have to pay taxes period at the end of the year, if you ask me, they are paid fairly already. Probably better. Maybe if ALL workers got paid fair, there wouldn't be immigrants stealing jobs.

Illegals make upwards of $60,000 a year in New Orleans, doing jobs blue collar jobs that go unfilled. Is that good money? The unions can't fill them because they don't have enough people willing.

i will not be ignorant for you sake of asking, but they would get the right wages if they stop standing on corners and gettting pickup by vans to work on a so called farm. but instead went down to INS and filed to be legal.

Legal immigrants are required to be paid the minimum wage.
Illegal immigrants are required to be deported, not paid.

legal immigrants should be paid like a US citizen gets paid. illegal immigrants should not be working here and therefore should not get paid at all.
