A child's hearing may be more acute than some adults because hearing loss usually occurs as the body ages.

Also some adults have been exposed to loud noises such as gun fire, rock concerts, to close to fire works, etc.
Their hearing has been impaired because of damage to the ear due to too high of volume.

A lot of times "tuning out"...or not listening, occurs in children as well as adults.
Then neither one seems to hear very well.

Good hearing is a real treasure. People of all ages need to protect their hearing.

I think adults have the tendency to talk around children and think they don't understand what is being said and therefore they are not listening. Children are like little sponges they will hear everything. Also some adults don't notice children are around when they are speaking so children end up hearing thing adults do not necessarily want them to hear

Less damage from loud music, TV and other environment noises. Also less stress and things to keep organized...a lot of it for adults isn't a hearing problem but rather a listening problem...
